Is it legal to market on WhatsApp in Kenya? +

Yes — WhatsApp marketing is legal and widely used in Kenya, provided you're using the official WhatsApp Business API and only messaging people who have opted in to receive messages from your business. Mass-blasting strangers or buying contact lists is both against Meta's policy and likely to get your number banned. We only operate compliantly.

What's the difference between WhatsApp Business App and the WhatsApp Business API? +

The WhatsApp Business App is the free app on your phone — it lets you reply to customers but has very limited automation and no broadcast capability to large lists. The WhatsApp Business API (which we use) gives you access to bulk broadcasts, chatbot automation, analytics, and multi-agent support. It requires onboarding through a Meta-approved BSP.

What if people opt out? +

Opt-outs are completely normal and healthy — they keep your list clean. We build opt-out handling into every campaign from the start so unsubscribes are managed automatically and compliant. A smaller list of engaged contacts is far more valuable than a large list of people who don't want to hear from you.
